Our apartments are located in L’Almadrava Cove in Roses. This is the first major beach you come to after leaving the town and before entering the Cap de Creus Natural Park. Although the cove is named after an ancient tuna fishing technique that was used there, little remains today of the period when Roses was a major fishing town.
Instead of that, the steep rocks and sweeping pine forests have made L’Almadrava Cove an idyllic spot for relaxation on the Costa Brava. Time stands still here and the waves move with the wind in a quiet residential setting through which some of the prettiest sections of the coastal footpath pass. It’s pure landscape and nature.

At 500 metres long and around 25 metres wide, the cove is sheltered from the tramuntana (northern wind) thanks to its strategic location. With fine sand and crystal-clear waters, it holds the ISO 14001 and EMAS European certification for environmental management.
Located four kilometres from the centre of Roses and easily accessible by car (10 minutes) and on foot (45 minutes from Roses along the coastal footpath), L’Almadrava Cove is located halfway between two of the province’s major cities: one hour from Girona and 40 minutes from Figueres by car. Those arriving from France can also reach L’Almadrava Cove in less than an hour from La Jonquera.

How to get to L’Almadrava Cove in Roses If you’re arriving by car: Whether you’re travelling from the north or the south, to get to L’Almadrava Cove you need to take Exit 4 (Figueres South - Roses) and continue along the NII for around six kilometres. When you reach the C-68 or Roses Road, you turn right and continue along the same road until you reach Roses. Once you reach the town centre, continue to cross the town along Avinguda de Rhode (Passeig Marítim) and then along Carretera del Far, always with the sea to your right. Finally, drive past Canyelles Petites Cove and turn right where you see the entrance to Hotel Almadrava Park. There you’ll find our apartments in L’Almadrava Cove in Roses. The beach and our Santallúcia Restaurant with Mediterranean cuisine are just a five-minute walk from there. If you’re arriving by public transport: The closest train station is in Figueres. Once you get there, you have to get a bus to Roses (times and frequency of service available on the Sarfa website) or take a taxi straight to the apartment. |
